A fundraiser for Nicole Trott scholarship foundation to be held on Sunday, Aug. 7 at Applebee's.

A fundraiser will be held at the Applebee’s in Manalapan on Sunday, Aug. 7 to start a scholarship foundation in honor of Nicole Trott. Trott, an Old Bridge resident and recent graduate of St. John Vianney High School, died on June 29 of this year from a heart defect she has had since birth.

The fundraiser will include a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Applebee’s, located at 55 Rt. 9 South in Manalapan. A car wash will be held in the Applebee’s parking lot following the breakfast. Tickets cost $5 for children under 12 years-old and cost $10 for all above the age of 13.

The money raised will go towards starting a scholarship foundation in Nicole Trott’s honor, as well as to raise awareness for heart screenings of high school athletes. Trott was an avid athlete who participated in cheerleading, track and field, and gymnastics.
