Bio: Chelsea Naso was born in Princeton and graduated from South Brunswick High School in 2007. After high school, she went on to study journalism at Quinnipiac University.

During her years at Quinnipiac, Chelsea interned in the production department for the Rachael Ray Show and in the TV/Web Integration department for the CNN Newsroom in Atlanta. She also worked as the web editor for the independent online school newspaper, as the graphics engineer and reporter for the campus TV station and as a freelancer for the Hamden Patch.

Chelsea graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011 and has since moved to Aberdeen to cover the Matawan, Aberdeen and Hazlet communities.

At Patch, we promise always to approach the news as objectively as possible and adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

Politics

I don't identify myself with either party.

Religion

My parents were both raised Catholic, however they raised my brothers and me in a non-denominational and open-minded environment.

Local Hot-Button Issues

Since I am new to Matawan and Aberdeen, I look forward to learning about all of the hot-button issues in this area. I can already tell that the residents are passionate about the Board of Education, commuters are concerned with parking at the train station and everyone is keeping a close eye on the town budgets.
