Matawan Borough Clerk, Police Secretary Announce Retirement

Both women served the borough for over a decade.

Two familiar faces in Matawan Borough have decided to hang up their hats and enjoy their retirement.

On April 16, the borough council voted to accept the retirement of Borough Clerk Jean Montfort and Police Secretary Patricia Sickels “reluctantly,” Mayor Paul Buccellato said.

Montfort has served as the borough clerk for over fifteen years, diligently organizing council resolutions, ordinances and meeting transcripts while providing municipal assistance to the many residents of the borough.
