Smokey Condition in Strathmore Home Brought Quickly Under Control

Aberdeen Township Fire Department responded to a smokey condition at a Strathmore home

A small house fire was brought quickly under control by members of the Aberdeen Township Fire Department Wednesday afternoon.

The department was dispatched to 99 Idlebrook Lane at about 11:18 a.m. due to a smokey condition, Fire Chief Gary Bellone said.

The source of the smoke was located in an upstairs bedroom inside the two-story home, Bellone said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A resident was home at the time, but no one was injured, Bellone said.

Aberdeen Township Hose and Chemical Co. No. 1, Cliffwood Volunteer Fire Co., South Aberdeen EMS and Aberdeen Township Police responded.
