Police Searching for Two Suspects after 99 Cent Shop Robbery

Police say the two men fled toward Strathmore Garden Apartments

Police are searching for two men after they allegedly robbed 99 Cent Spot on S. Atlantic Avenue in Aberdeen Friday night.

According to Chief of Police John Powers, between 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. two males wearing dark clothing entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. They ordered her to lay on the floor and threatened to hurt her if she did not obey, Powers said. No weapon was shown during the robbery.

They left with a quantity of cash and jewelry. The police department is unable to disclose the amount at this time, Powers said.

The two males fled in the direction of the . Matawan Borough Police and a K-9 Unit from the Monmouth County Sherriff's Department assisted in the search, but they were unable to locate the two suspects.

Police ask that anyone with information or anyone who saw something suspicious contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054.
