Matawan Woman Indicted For Allegedly Forging Prescription in Manalapan

A Monmouth County grand jury handed up the indictment Thursday.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a Matawan woman on charges she presented a forged prescription to a Manalapan pharmacy.

Investigators say Jessica Klausner, 24, received a New Jersey prescription blank and allegedly knew or understood that the blank was stolen. The charges allege that on Sept. 29, 2012 Klausner forged an oxycodone prescription and presented it to A+ Pharmacy in Manalapan Township.

Klausner was indicted on three charges, including receiving stolen property, uttering a forged instrument and attempt to obtain a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.

All three charges are in the third degree.

An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a jury found there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
