Matawan Man Indicted on Heroin Possession, Distribution Charges

Aberdeen Police arrested the Matawan resident on May 4.

A Matawan man was indicted this week on charges that he was in possession of heroin and intended to sell it in Aberdeen in May 2012.

According to charges filed by the Aberdeen Township Police Department, Calvin Pierce, 22, who lives in the Matawan Terrace apartment complex on Cross Road, was allegedly in possession of 92 wax paper bags of heroin labeled "Matrix" on May 4. 

Pierce was indicted on two charges, including possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute.

Both are second degree crimes. 

An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a grand jury voted there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
