Car Jacked from Hazlet Had Baby Girl Inside, Authorities Say

A Jersey City man was arrested in Aberdeen in connection with a carjacking. The infant in the backseat was located and is okay.

A carjacking incident Wednesday ended with an arrest in Aberdeen and no injuries, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Around 12:20 p.m., Rodney Anderson, 44, of  Jersey City allegedly carjacked a vehicle from a woman with her child in the backseat on 13th Street in Hazlet.

Police pursued the vehicle before losing sight of it in Keyport. The car was found on Broad Street in Keyport with the infant inside and unharmed, according to authorities. 

Anderson was found and arrested on Cliffwood Avenue in Aberdeen, near the intersection of the train tracks.

Charges are pending, according to Charlie Webster, public information officer at the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
