Aberdeen PD Investigate Car Fire

Aberdeen Township police are investigating a July 17 car fire

A vehicle parked on Archie Street near Guisti Field caught fire Sunday evening, police say.

Police resonded to the July 17 fire at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The vehicle's owner, a Matawan resident, reported that she left the vehicle parked there while visiting a friend nearby.

The fire was extinguished by the Cliffwood Volunteer Fire company and Police Officer Roger Peter conducted the initial investigation. The Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office assisted Det. Henry Chavalier with the investigation.
