Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 288 calls for service between June 6 and June 12, 2012

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 288 calls for service between June 6 and June 12, 2012, including 18 suspicious persons/vehicles; 12 alarms; 12 first aid calls; nine motor vehicle crashes; six thefts; 11 disorderly persons; six domestic violence incidents; 12 noise complaint; and 63 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief John Powers. Officers also issued 47 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests June 6, 2012 through June 12, 2012:

  • A 41 year-old Charles St. man was arrested for contempt of court out of Aberdeen Township on June 6. P.O. Christopher DeSarno was the arresting officer.  
  • On June 6 P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 39-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Union Beach municipal court.
  • On June 7 Det. Manny Carabel arrested a 19-year-old Matawan woman for harassment.
  • A 36 year-old Keansburg woman was arrested for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal on June 7.  P.O. Darryl Richardson was the arresting officer.
  • On June 8 Special Officer Michael Scarpa arrested a 26-year-old Keyport man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • On June 9 P.O. Christopher DeSarno arrested a 17-year-old township youth for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Storyland Park.
  • P.O. John Young arrested a 60-year-old resident of Ferndale Place for simple assault on June 10.
  • A 46 year-old Euclid Ave. man was arrested for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal on June 10.  P.O. Roger Peter was the arresting officer.
  • On June 11 P.O. Anthony Valentino arrested a 23-year-old Matawan Ave. woman for harassment.
  • On June 12 Monmouth County Sheriff’s officers charged a 47-year-old Brookside Ave. man with hindering the apprehension of another.  P.O. Matthew McDow assisted.

Other police activity during that period:

  • On June 6 it was reported that someone entered a vacant house on Netherwood Dr. and attempted to remove copper pipes.  P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.
  • On June 6 officers responded to a at the intersection of Highway 35 and Amboy Ave.
  • On June 7 P.O. Darryl Richardson responded to a neighbor dispute on Ambler Lane.
  • P.O. Anthony Valentino responded to a disorderly persons report at Rebound Gymnastics on County Rd.
  • On June 8 a resident of Ferndale Pl. reported someone had entered his vehicle and took the registration and insurance card. P.O. Frank Maisano investigated.
  • On June 8 a resident of Ken Garden apartments reported someone had entered his vehicle and took a GPS unit valued at $125. P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.
  • P.O. John Zeller investigated a report of items taken from a vehicle on Amboy Ave. on June 8.  A check book and other identification documents were taken.
  • On June 8 P.O. Christopher DeSarno responded to a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle parked near Ice Cream Palace on Highway 34.
  • A Beverly Drive resident reported that sometime between June 4 and June 8 someone entered his residence and took a tablet valued at $300. P.O. Frank Maisano took the report.
  • On June 8 a resident of Avondale Lane reported that sometime during the last month someone damaged playground equipment in Andover Park.  P.O. Jeffrey Griffith responded.
  • P.O. Jeffrey Griffith responded to a report of harassment made by a resident of North Concourse on June 9.
  • On June 9 a resident of Ken Garden apartments reported someone had entered his vehicle and took a GPS unit and cell phone charger valued at $170.  P.O. Craig Hausmann investigated.
  • P.O. Jeffrey Griffith responded to a report of criminal trespass made by a resident of Fern Lane on June 10.
  • On June 11 P.O. Michael Lasko responded to a report of a stolen street sign on the corner of Ivy Way and Idolstone Lane.
  • On June 11 P.O. John Young investigated an incident of internet fraud reported by a Hawthorne St. resident. The victim had done some work for an online company, but her paycheck was returned for insufficient funds.  
  • Sometime between June 4 and June 11 someone dumped shrubs and grass clippings on Elm Place. P.O. John Young investigated.
  • On June 12 a resident of Dolan Ave. reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took a small amount of change.
