Aberdeen PD Blotter: Careless Driving, Marijuana Possession

Aberdeen Township Police activity between April 18 and April 24, 2012

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 284 calls for service between April 18 and April 24, 2012, including twelve suspicious persons/vehicles; 26 alarms; 19 first aid calls; 17 motor vehicle crashes; ten thefts; three disorderly persons; four domestic violence incidents; four noise complaints; and 46 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief of Police John Powers. Officers issued 53 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests April 18, 2012 through April 24, 2012:

  • On April 18 Eduardo M. DeSouza, 24, of Miller St., Newark, was arrested by Sgt. Henry Chevalier on charges of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief related to an incident on Brown Place on Feb. 12, 2012.  He was released on bail.  P.O. Matthew McDow conducted the initial investigation.
  • A 31-year-old Marlboro man was arrested by P.O. Gus Grivas on April 18 for theft.
  • P.O. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 15-year-old township youth for theft and resisting arrest following an incident at the Shop Rite store on Lloyd Rd. on April 19.
  • P.O. Anthony Valentino arrested a 50-year-old Elm Place woman for simple assault on April 20.
  • A 33-year-old Keansburg man was arrested by P.O. Christopher DeSarno for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on April 21.
  • P.O. Roger Peter arrested a 51-year-old Keyport man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on April 22.
  • A 17-year-old Matawan youth was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia by P.O. Mary Johnston on April 23.
  • On April 23 P.O. John Young arrested a 38-year-old Freehold woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • P.O. Christopher DeSarno arrested a 24-year-old Elm Place woman for simple assault and harassment on April 25.

Other police activity during that period:

  • On April 18 P.O. Raymond Campbell responded to a report of the theft of copper wire valued at $3,000 from a business on Cliffwood Ave.
  • A resident of Gaston St. reported the theft of a wallet and cash from his vehicle on April 20 sometime overnight.  P.O. Anthony Valentino investigated.
  • P.O. Matthew Lloyd responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Navajo Drive on April 20.
  • P.O. Martin Walsh investigated an assault on Sunset Way reported on April 20.
  • On April 20 a Belaire Court resident reported the theft of delivered packages that had been left on her front porch. P.O. Gus Grivas took the report.
  • On April 20 an Old Bridge resident reported her cell phone stolen while shopping at Shop Rite, Lloyd Rd., on April 15. The thief then used personal information contained on the phone to make fraudulent purchases. P.O. Christopher DeSarno responded.
  • A 24-year-old North Concourse man was charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident following a crash on South Concourse at approximately 7:00 AM on April 21.  P.O. Matthew Lloyd investigated.
  • P.O. Darryl Richardson responded to a trespassing complaint at Simply Self Storage, County Rd., on April 21.
  • On April 21 Matthew Lloyd took a report of harassing phone calls to a Courtland Lane resident.
  • P.O. Christopher DeSarno responded to a report of disorderly persons at Matawan Terrace apartments on April 21.
  • On April 22 P.O. Jeffrey Griffith took a harassment report on Milton Ave
  • On April 22 a Middletown man reported that he was assaulted after a football game by two members of the opposing team at Tab Ramos Sports Center.
  • P.O. Jeffrey Griffith responded to a report of a suicidal individual at a Ridge Rd. residence on April 23.
  • P.O. John Young investigated a report of a suspicious person on Chilton Lane near Courtland Lane on April 24.
  • P.O. Mary Johnston responded to a landlord-tenant dispute on Atlantic Ave. on April 24.
