Obituary: Irene Cannon, 90, of Cheesequake Village

She was a member of Club 60, Matawan; the Leisure Timers; and a member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Aberdeen.

Irene E. (Miller) Cannon, 90, of Cheesequake Village, Matawan, passed away, Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Marlboro. Born in Shamokin, PA, she lived most of her life in New Jersey. She worked in a dress factory in Shamokin, PA, prior to working as a clerk with JC Penney’s. Irene was a member of Club 60, Matawan; the Leisure Timers; and a member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Aberdeen.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband James Cannon in 1981; and her parents, Lester and Katie (Lahr) Miller. She is survived by her loving children, Michael Cannon and wife Diane of Sarasota, FL; and Jill Rammairone and husband Frank of Marlboro; her cherished grandchildren, Gregory, Derek and Brett Cannon; and Andrew, Jamie and Jessica Rammairone; precious great grandchildren, Christina Rammairone and Mason Burns; and her companion, John Barbato of four years. Irene will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited Thursday, August 22, 2013, from 2-4 & 7-9PM and Friday, August 23, 2013, at 10AM with a 10:30AM service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Cloverleaf Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Donations may be made in Irene’s memory to the Life Choice Hospice, 2317 Hwy. 34, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
