Artist, Homemaker and Decorator Dies at 91

Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Barbara L. (nee Fischler) Basko, 91, of Cream Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at home with family by her side. Barbara was born June 18, 1922 in Matawan. She grew up in Keyport. Predeceased by her beloved husband Albert Basko, Barbara was married for 56 years and raised her two sons in Elizabeth.  She resided in Hazlet before moving to Cream Ridge.

Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was an artist, homemaker and decorator.  She cherished her grandchildren and never missed any of their special events.

Daughter of the late Rose and Joseph Fischler.  Predeceased by her sisters, Helen Pitonak and Anne Kulas and brothers, Joseph, Peter, Frank and Bill Fischler.

 She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Patricia Basko of Millstone Township; and Gary and Terrie Basko of Jackson; and five grandchildren, Tiffany, Lindsay and her husband Ryan, Gary Jr., Kevin and Holly.

Family and friends are invited, Monday, September 2, 2013, from  2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Tuesday, September 3, 2013, 8:30AM, at the funeral home, with a  9:15AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.  Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.  To submit online condolences to the family or for directions to the funeral home, visitwww.dayfuneralhome.com.
