Expect Detour at Parkway Exit 117 NB Sat. Dec. 10

Due to work scheduled on the Lloyd Rd bridge, drivers are asked to take a different route on Saturday, Dec. 10

A section of Lloyd Road in Aberdeen is expected to be closed Saturday, December 10, impacting access to the Garden State Parkway northbound at exit 117.

According to Aberdeen Township Chief of Police John Powers, the scope of the work is limited to the bridge deck that goes over the parkway. As a result, the northbound entrance to the parkway will only be accessible via Gerard Avenue/Clark Street.

Detour signs will be posted and police officers will be stationed at both ends of the bridge. Motorists should plan alternate routes and allow additional time for their trips, Powers said. As an alternative route, travelers may want to access the parkway south at Exit 114 in Holmdel/Middletown, or north at Exit 120 in Matawan.
