Aberdeen Township celebrated the beginning of Hannukah Tuesday evening with a menorah lighting.

Residents gathered at where children played with dreidels and chocolate coins, won prizes for Hannukah-related trivia and enjoyed latkes.

Aharon and Devorah Russ, who attend Young Israel of Aberdeen on Lloyd Road, helped organize the event. Aharon led the group outside where he read the three blessings and lit the menorah with the assistance of the Aberdeen Township Hose and Chemical Company No. 1 Chief Donald McNab.
