Aberdeen Woman Advances to State Art Contest

After placing first in the county's art contest, she will move on to the state competition

An Aberdeen woman placed first for her category at the 2012 Monmouth County Senior Citizen Juried Art Contest and Exhibition.

Barbara Heinrichs' non-professional acrylic painting, "Mansion Stairway," received a blue ribbon. Heinrichs, along with the first place winners from the other 10 categories, will compete in the New Jersey Association of Area Agencies on Aging State Senior Citizens Annual Juried Art Contest and Exhibition in September. The contest will be held at the Meadow Lakes community in East Windsor.

“Each year we are elated to showcase our senior art at the county library’s Manalapan location during the entire month of July,” Office on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans Services Executive Director Michael T. Ruane said. “These talented members of our community bring decades of experience to life through their artwork.”
