Ring in the New Year with a New Best Friend

Local animal rescue group is hoping to place these pets in forever homes.

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue (CODAR) is an Aberdeen-based, non-profit canine rescue group that takes in dogs from high-kill shelters and puppy mills along the east coast and works to find them any necessary medical attention, foster care and a forever home.

This week CODAR has sent Patch six dogs looking for a permanent, loving home. If you are interested in adopting any of the animals in the slideshow, fill out the application online at www.castle-of-dreams.com.

Leena

Leena, an 8-year-old Yorkie mix, is a sweet little 8 pound pup who was found wandering the streets of New York City. When her time was up at the shelter Castle of Dreams stepped in to rescue her. She’s been in a foster home for a long time and is hoping the new year brings her a new family to love. Leena needs to be an only dog, loves long walks, playing fetch and relaxing on the couch to watch TV. She’d be the perfect companion for a retired couple.

Noah

Noah is Mr. Happy-go-lucky! This charming fellow loves everyone. He’s a Lhasa Apso mix, neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He just wants a family to love him as much as he loves life! If you want to meet this prince charming in person just contact Castle of Dreams and we’ll set up a meet and greet.

Elvis

Elvis was thrown away in a South Carolina Walmart parking lot. When caring people saw this little 7-month-old pup trying to fend for himself they took him to a shelter. He had a rough time in the shelter and was picked on by bigger dogs so Castle of Dreams stepped in to rescue this precious pup. Now Elvis is in New Jersey and ready to find a family that will know what a treasure he is. Elvis is ready for his new home.

Tyger

Meet Tyger, an approximately 5-month-old brindle Pit Bull mix. His foster family says he is friendly, playful, well behaved and housebroken. This poor boy has been bounced around and really needs a good home. People bought him and couldn't have pets, a friend tried to help but can't keep him either, so this guy is looking for a forever home where he will be loved.

Deli

Deli is a beautiful, affectionate, approximately 1-year-old Catahoula mix.  She is described by her current owner as having a very loving and adoring temperament. She is most content when she is with her person and loves that interaction. Deli would be best as the only child. She is used to an environment when someone is home a good part of the day and may have difficulty adapting otherwise. Deli is currently on medication (Proin).

Daisee

Daisee was rescued from Georgia along with her litter of 8. All her pups found good homes and now she is waiting for her happy ever after. She was a great mommy but very shy and scared around people. She is a real sweetheart and she is really coming out of her shell! She is only about 28 lbs, still a little shy , but a very good dog. House trained and up to date on vaccinations. Contact Castle of Dreams to meet Daisee!
