Matawan First Responders to Honor Victims of Sept. 11 on Twelfth Anniversary

Fire, first aid and police will gather at Memorial Park in Matawan to honor the memory of all the victims of the 2001 terrorist attack.

Matawan emergency responders will honor the memory of all of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack.

Members of the Matawan Borough Fire Department, Matawan Borough Police Department and Matawan First Aid and Rescue Squad will gather at Memorial Park at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11 for a ceremonial wreath-laying, according to Washington Engine Company Cpt. Chris Lambros.

Midway Engine Company will also be assembling their Wall of Honor for the service, Lambros said. The Wall of Honor is a three-piece tribute to all emergency responders and civilians who were killed twelve years ago on Sept. 11.

The service is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.

Memorial Park is located at the intersection of Broad Street and Main Street.

Editor's note: No services will take place this year in Aberdeen Township.
