Buffy Lost a Leg to Abuse, Hopes to Gain Love From Forever Family

Buffy was severely injured when he was thrown out of a moving car. A witness rescued the dog, but the injuries to his leg resulted in an amputation.

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue (CODAR) is an Aberdeen-based, non-profit canine rescue group that takes in dogs from high-kill shelters and puppy mills along the east coast and works to find them any necessary medical attention, foster care and a forever home.

This week CODAR has sent Patch eight dogs looking for a permanent, loving home. If you are interested in adopting any of the animals in the slideshow, fill out the application online at www.castle-of-dreams.com.

Buffy

Buffy is a beautiful blonde terrier mix who we think he is under a year old. Poor thing was thrown out of a moving vehicle and fortunately someone saw it happen and picked him up. His front leg was so badly damaged it had to be amputated, but despite all he's been through, he is just the sweetest little thing. He is doing well with his recovery. If you have that special heart for this special little guy you will be rewarded unconditionally with his love.

Bruiser

Bruiser, a Newfoundland mix, had a really tough start in life. Two years old and just healed from a bad ear infection from a dog bite. He’s super sweet and just loves people. He loves belly rubs and cuddling and playing with toys. Does well on a leash and loves taking walks. Brusier is housebroken and sleeps in a crate. A little nervous around other dogs because he was attacked. Up to date on vaccinations and neutered.

Ricky

Ricky, a purebred Chihuahua, came from an abusive household. He will need someone with a lot of patience and love to give. He is very smart, and already housetrained. When you look in his eyes you can see he wants to trust and be a good dog. He is better with smaller dogs and is starting to learn to play and be a real dog. Vaccinated, neutered, and housetrained.

Oreo

Oreo, a Shih Tzu mix, was rescued from a kill shelter in Missouri and has come to New Jersey looking for his forever home. Playful and sweet, Oreo he is fully vetted and neutered.

Angelina

Angelina is a senior Yorkie at the age of 9 but that doesn't stop her from loving you with all her might! Petite and sweet, she weighs about 5 pounds. She just loves to be by your side. Sadly, Angelina had been with her owner for 9 years till about 2 weeks ago when a family change caused her to be surrendered to rescue. She is now in foster care and coming out of her shell in her new surroundings. She is dog friendly, cat friendly and child friendly but due to her age would do best in a home where she can have a little peace and quiet.

Ike

Ike is a male, pure bred Cocker Spaniel. He was very afraid in the shelter but is doing great in his foster home. He does well with dogs his own size, but is cautious of bigger dogs. Ike is being treated for Heartworm and is coming to New Jersey to find his forever home.

Leena

Leena, found thin and wandering alone on mean city streets, is a six pould Yorkie mix. Although a senior dog, Leena definitely has lots of energy. She loves to play fetch, cuddle on the couch and wants to be your best friend. Leena needs to be an only dog and would do best in a quiet home. She’s loving and sweet. Vaccinated, spayed and ready to find a forever home.
