October 6, 2013 - The Jersey Shore Huskies 10U Division is the 2013 10U Champions of the Jenny Finch's Ace's Invitational Tournament at Diamond Nation (www.diamondnation.com).
The Huskies showed excellent poise and determination on Saturday proving that they are a force on the diamond. The scores were 10-6 (vs. Amwell), 15-3 (vs.Venom) and 15-6 (Empire State). Pitching dominated the day with Olivia, Angelina, Payton and Paige providing the fire-power on the mound. The team provided enough offense with timely hits and several home runs.
The Huskies came back on championship Sunday to prove that Saturday was not a fluke. They had a 1st round bye as the top-seed in the tournament. The semi-final game against Amwell was a nail biter but the Huskies squeezed out a win 8-7 against a real good team.
In the finals, the Huskies bats showed up and scored 11 runs to capture the Finch's Ace's Fall Invitational 10U Championship Trophy.
Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents for the awesome job!!!
Side Notes - The 12Ucn (2nd year) Huskies wins the trophy down in Marlton Thunder Friendly. The 12Ucc (1st year) Huskies makes the semi-final in their first tournament of the season at the Hopewell Bad-Girls Fall Re-Run Tournament.
