ReplyTo the "anonymous" person who commented about this being a "ploy to sell books", if you actually read the article, you'd see that the book is FREE to download. I guess that blows your theory out of the water.
Sonia Brakowski is a fine woman without a mean or selfish bone in her body. Instead of trying to tarnish her reputation, how about acknowledging the fact that she is sharing a very personal, painful experience only to help others. I can only imagine the courage it took to write it.

ReplyAlthough it was many years ago, I remember this wonderful family well. I knew about the loss of their beloved daughter, but I was a child myself and could never comprehend their loss. Now well into adulthood, I sit here in awe. What amazing parents! I look forward to reading your book and have no doubt it will be well received.

ReplySorry, but BBQ smoke and wood burning stoves? Really? These people sound like a bunch of spoiled, entitled teenagers.
Folks, pick up your cigarette butts, your dog's mess and enjoy your burgers! No need for these silly ordinances brought up by the power hungry, need-to-be-noticed types. A little mutual respect goes a long way.

ReplyYou can't bankrupt on the US Govt., child support. If you want to know why taxes keep going up, look no further than our local officials and the teachers union. They are the ones spending your money.

ReplySome of these comments are interesting. I know I am paying quite a bit more for groceries, fuel, utilities, medical care, and especially taxes. This business and others locally are having a difficult time making ends meet. The number of vacant stores and offices has increased sugnificantly. Why should this business be any different? This isn't about a business charging a few dollars more for a pizza during a storm. How nice he was willing to wait for gas to get supplies. Look at the bigger picture here folks. This guy is not alone. A lot of us are a paycheck away from being in his shoes. Things must change, and soon.

On the article How Would You Improve Downtown Matawan?
Pat

ReplyMain Street, from the train station to downtown is a hole. There is no leadership or an interest in changing things. All the local governments are interested in is raising taxes, creating jobs for family and friends and giving in to the teacer's unions. Take a good look at Main Street. It's our future if things don't change, and they won't. Get used to it.

ReplyGas prices up, tolls up, food costs up, utilities up, fed taxes up, healthcare costs up, insurance up, unemployment high. Exactly where do they think this money is coming from? Guess a lot of us will be up and outta here very soon! Very sad to be taxed out of your home.
