Fred Tuccillo, an award-winning print and digital journalist, is the Senior Regional Editor for Central Jersey & The Shore. He joined Patch as Regional Editor for northern Monmouth County in September, 2010. As a reporter and editor, Fred has handled everything from local police and municipal stories to national politics and government.  As a digital journalist, he led the development of Newsday.com and directed the transition of New Jersey Online to NJ.com.

Fred grew up on Long Island, attended Syracuse and Adelphi universities and worked for Newsday as a reporter, editor and new media director. His investigative work at Newsday earned him recognition as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Special Local Reporting.

At Advance Internet, Fred managed websites affiliated with Newhouse newspapers in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His sites were twice honored with Editor & Publisher's Online EPpy Award. 

He has also held senior editing positions with Gannett New Jersey and The Princeton Packet.

Fred has been a resident of Monmouth County since 1998.
