ReplyOnly one eco-cruise is to Staten Island. The other is a lighthouse tour.

ReplySorry, we just fixed the title. Perhaps one of our eco-cruises would be worth the drive. Our web site is www.nynjbaykeeper.org

ReplyMark,
I spoke with our oyster manager and she said that MSX and Dermo are evident in the older oysters (3-4 years old), as would be expected. I am not sure if that answers your question. MSX and Dermo are not related to the state's ban on oyster research in any way. -

Actually, Governor Christie has not offered any help. You can fill out the petition (the link is at the bottom of the article) and ask the Administration to start working with us to bring back the oysters. Or you can call the Governor's office directly and tell him you want to see oyster restoration research revived. http://www.state.nj.us/governor/contact/

Hi John and re-tired,
The funding is neither from taxpayers nor from the Navy. The Navy is the host for the project but no Navy funding is received. We received the competitive funding from a national foundation and the dollars cannot be reallocated at our discretion. Please visit our web site if you have questions about the value of oyster research and we are always available to answer questions.
