UPDATE: Police Address Rumors in Dog Death Cases in Keansburg

According to the Keansburg Police Dept, two dogs have died since Oct. 6 from ingesting a toxic substance. They say rumors that more have died are untrue.

Keansburg Police and Monmouth County SPCA Police Chief Victor "Buddy" Amato are investigating the deaths of two dogs -- one that died of ingesting anti-freeze and another that died from ingesting an undetermined toxic substance. A healthy family pet that lived in a house near East Church Street died on Oct. 6 within 24 hours after ingesting what the veterinarian believed to have been anti-freeze. The death of the Jack Russell terrier was reported to Keansburg Police and Amato by a veterinarian about three days ago. Yesterday, Keansburg Police received a report that another dog passed away and that the dog had also possibly ingested something toxic, said Keansburg Deputy Chief Michael Pigott.  "We couldn't determine that, but we are looking…

She loves showing affection and gets along with other dogs. Although Ella is deaf, she does respond to hand signals and will adapt to your household and family activities. Kiki has been at the SPCA for a year with her son after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter elsewhere. Noah is a fun-loving 4-year-old cat who came to the SPCA because his former owner had a cat allergy. iPlay America to Host SPCA Fur Ball

Tickets are $150 and all proceeds go to the Monmouth County SPCA.

The Monmouth County SPCA will be the beneficiary of a fundraiser hosted by a local amusement park this weekend. iPlay America, an indoor theme park in Freehold, will host the annual Monmouth County SPCA Fur Ball at its Encore Event Center on Saturday, April 21 at 6 p.m. “We’re very excited to be hosting the SPCA’s Fur Ball,” said iPlay America President and CEO Robert McDaid. “Our management and staff have a strong affinity to dogs and cats and this is going to be a fun event for all involved." For $150, guests can enjoy fine dining, an open bar, an auction and live music by Brian Kirk and the Jirks. Bella would much rather give kisses and be petted than play with toys, but she does play with some!
