Update: Aberdeen Police Release Additional Details About Wednesday's Armed Robbery

Police are searching for a man and woman who allegedly used a gun to rob a Cliffwood Beach house while an adult and a child were home.

Editor's note: This story was updated with additional information from police at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21. Police are searching for a man and a woman who allegedly flashed a handgun during the robbery of an Aberdeen home Wednesday night. According to Police Chief John Powers, at about 5:20 p.m. two people knocked on the door of a Raritan Street home and asked the child who answered the door who was home. The pair then proceeded to enter the home without permission, Powers said.  The female stayed with the child while the male showed a handgun to an adult male resident while he robbed him of a backpack and pair of sneakers, according to police. Citizens Halt Man Who Allegedly Snatched Purse From Cart At Target

Police responded to the scene at the parking lot around 4:18 p.m. Thursday.

Middletown Police arrested a township man who allegedly grabbed a woman's purse from a shopping cart in the Target parking lot and tried to take off. He didn't get far, because the woman gave chase and two citizens assisted by halting the alleged robber until police arrived on the scene. Paul Welch, 34 of Chapman Terrace was charged with theft and refusing arrest by pulling his arms away from officers trying to cuff him. He was also charged with child endangerment for leaving a child with autism, legally in his care, in a locked non-running vehicle for two hours in 33 degree weather. Connecticut Man Awaiting Possible Indictment for Alleged Armed Robbery of CVS

Branford, CT man who allegedly robbed the Aberdeen CVS pharmacy at gunpoint is awaiting grand jury presentation.

Twenty-five year old Branford resident Matthew Pagliaro, arrested on Aug. 3 in for allegedly committing armed robbery of the Aberdeen CVS on South Atlantic Avenue is still awaiting possible indictment according to Richard E. Incremona, First Assistant Prosecutor with Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Incremona said Pagliaro posted his surety bond for $155,000 from Monmouth County Correctional Institute on Aug. 6. Pagliaro’s case has been assigned to a trial team pending grand jury presentation. Connecticut Man Charged with Armed Robbery of CVS in Aberdeen

Police say he showed pharmacy employees a gun

A Connecticut man was charged with the armed robbery of CVS on South Atlanctic Avenue by Aberdeen Township Police on Aug. 3. Police say that Matthew R. Pagliaro, 25, of Branford, CT, went into CVS at about 7:15 p.m. on Friday and approached the pharmacy counter. He allegedly passed a note to an employee saying that he was armed with a gun and was demanding oxycodone pills. Pagliaro then showed the employee the gun, Powers said. He was given the pills and left the store. Police were called to the scene, where they were given a description of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle, a gray Toyota Prius with Connecticut plates, Powers said. Cliffwood Beach Man Charged with Papa John's Robbery

The suspect is also facing charges of attempted burglary in Aberdeen

The Matawan Borough Police Department charged a Cliffwood Beach man Wednesday with the recent robbery of Papa John's Pizza, according to Sgt. Thomas Falco. On July 18, shortly before 11:45 p.m., a Papa John's employee was counting money from the register when a man the employee recognized from the night before entered the shop, Falco said. The man reached out as if to shake the employee's hand, but when the employee reached out to return the gesture the man grabbed about $400 from the register and the employee's cell phone, Falco said. The man then fled on foot. An investigation conducted by the Detective Bureau led Det. Joseph Lovallo to charge Daquan Esdaile, 19, with the robbery, Falco said. Bail was set by the Hon. Matawan Police: Cash and Cigarettes Stolen from Liquor Store

Police responded to an alarm at Wine Nation on Wednesday

The Matawan Police Department responded to an alarm at Wine Nation on Wednesday at 2:12 a.m., where they found the glass door of the business shattered, according to Sgt. Thomas Falco. Officers discovered that about $1,000 cash and several cartons of cigarettes were taken from the Route 34 liquor store, Falco said. Ptl. Jeffrey Bodner and Ptl. Jonathan Borsari were the initial responding officers. Sgt. Patrick Walker along with officers from the Aberdeen Township Police Department and the Holmdel Township Police K-9 Unit responded and assisted in searching for the suspect or suspects. The Matawan Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place at Papa John's Pizza on July 18 shortly before 11:45 p.m., according to Sgt. Thomas Falco. A Papa John's employee told police that a black male entered the business while he was counting money from the register, Falco said. The employee recognized the man from being in the pizzeria the night before and the man reached out his arm as if to shake the employee's hand, the employee told police. Patsy's Cab Driver Robbed at Knifepoint on Durant Ave. in Holmdel

Police are looking for a suspect, who fled on foot Monday afternoon

A female driver working for Patsy's Cab Service of Matawan said she was robbed at knifepoint Monday afternoon in Holmdel. The driver told Holmdel Police she was dropping off a male customer in the Orchards development off Laurel Avenue around 4:10 p.m. when he pulled out a knife and demanded money and the keys to the vehicle. The woman was not injured. After the robbery the suspect fled on foot, possibly to a waiting vehicle on Hylan, which the cab driver described as a charcoal Chevy Equinox. The driver said she is not certain if he actually got into the car. The amount of money stolen from the cab driver was not disclosed by police, who also did not describe the knife. Irvington Man Charged with Robbery of BP Gas Station in Aberdeen

Police say a fingerprint and his physical description links him to the robbery

Aberdeen Township police charged Imran T. Ivery, 27, of Irvington today with the robbery of a BP gas station at the intersection of Highway 35 and Amboy Avenue in Aberdeen Township. Police say that at about 4 a.m. on March 28, a man approached the attendant at the BP gas station and asked the attendant to purchase one of the items kept in the booth. The man followed the attendant into the booth and once inside he allegedly showed a black handgun to the attendant and demanded money, Police Chief John Powers said. The suspect allegedly took a quantity of cash, the store's cordless phone and the attendant's cell phone. He fled on foot in the direction of Amboy Avenue, police said.
