Aberdeen Residents Appointed to Local Boards & Councils

The Aberdeen Council approved the appointments of local residents as members of boards and councils.

Keyport Man Among County Residents Appointed to Monmouth Boards

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders named residents to county boards.

A Keyport resident was appointmented to the Advisory Council to the Office of the Aging during Monmouth County's annual reorganization meeting on Thursday at Biotechology High School in Freehold Township. Isaiah Cooper will serve on the Advisory Council for three years. The full list of citizen appointments made by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders is as follows:

In addition to four new members, the board of education now has a new president and vice president.

The Matawan Aberdeen Board of Education elected a new president and vice president for 2013 at their Jan. 3 reorganization meeting.  After swearing in new members Tara Martinez, James Macomber, Joelle Nappi and Kathleen Gentile, the board nominated and voted for both leadership positions.  Elected as board president was Jeff Delaney, an Aberdeen resident who is currently in his first term as a board member. Delaney is looking forward to continuing his service to the local educational community. "I've been in education all my life, never from this perspective. Matawan Recognizes Citizens Of The Year at Reorganization Meeting

Several borough departments and emergency responders were honored for their response to Sandy.

Several Matawan residents, employees and volunteers were honored by Mayor Paul Buccellato as the 2012 Citizen Of The Year for their dedication to the borough before, during and after Hurricane Sandy.  "The destruction that followed Sandy was, to say the least, incredible. Not only to New Jersey but to New York, Connecticut and parts of Pennsylvania. None of us will ever forget Sandy," Buccellato said before presenting plaques to the recipients at the Matawan reorganization meeting. Agenda: Aberdeen Township's 2013 Reorganization Meeting

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 2 at the Aberdeen Township Municipal Building.

The Aberdeen Township Council will hold their annual reorganization meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. in the courtroom at the Aberdeen Township Municipal Building. According to the agenda for the 2013 reorganization meeting, the council will make appointments to the Planning Board as well as the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The council will also appoint a deputy municipal clerk and approve a temporary 2013 budget.  The council will then adjourn into an executive session, where they are expected to discuss train station redevelopment, potential litigation with Prime 34, land acquisition involving Aberdeen Wilson and contractual professional RFQ's.  The full agenda is attached to this article below the photo of town hall.
