Motorcyclist Flown by Medevac After Accident at GSP NB Exit 114

Victim airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center

A motorcyclist traveling on the exit ramp at Garden State Parkway 114 in Holmdel hit the guardrail and was ejected onto the roadway around 1:30 p.m. today, August 6, said police.  The victim is in stable condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center, according to Trooper Dennis O'Dea, who declined to identify the driver.  Because a Medevac transport was necessary, the northbound local and express lanes of the Parkway were closed for about 20 minutes for the arrival and liftoff of the NorthSTAR (Northern Shock Trauma Air Rescue) helicopter. The exit ramp leading to Red Hill Road was closed for several hours, said O'Dea.  Holmdel First Aid squads responded to the accident, said squad President Michael Nikolis.
