Obituary: Member of Cliffwood Ladies Auxiliary Dies at 93

Services will be held Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

Florence M. (Mount) Farlee, 93, of Aberdeen, passed away, Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was born in Long Branch, NJ.  She retired in 1972, as a salesperson with Sears. Florence was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Cliffwood; the St. Gabriel’s Seniors and the St. Clement’s Seniors. Florence was predeceased by her 1st husband, Frederick A. Smith; her 2nd husband, Llewelyn Farlee; and her parents, Howard and Marie Maltby Mount.  She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne H. Smith and Patricia of Aberdeen; and Glenn P. Smith and Mary Ellen of Cranford; four cherished grandchildren and six precious great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and …

Obituary: Matawan Regional High School Class of '97 Graduate Dies

The 33-year-old was laid to rest Monday.

Andrew Ryan Clott, 33, died on Thursday, May 2. Born in Brooklyn, NY on Jun. 24, 1979, he currently lived in East Brunswick. Clott graduated from Matawan Regional High School in 1997. Friends and family took to Facebook after his passing to remember a supportive and funny young man. Clott was laid to rest on Monday, May 6 at the Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum. Services were orchestrated by the Holmdel Funeral Home.  Family requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Andrew's name to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (P.O. Box 62596, Baltimore, MD 21264-2596).

Obituary: Michael Pavlo, 69, of Old Bridge-Matawan Area

Pavlo served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968.

Michael W. Pavlo, 69, of Old Bridge/Matawan area, passed away, Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the VA Hospital, East Orange. Born in Newark, he resided in Irvington before moving to Old Bridge.  He was the owner/director of Mike Pavlo & Associates, Pump Consultants, working for Worthington Pump Corp., Harrison, as manager of Customer/Field Service with responsibility for all products out of Harrison, in conjunction with Pacific Pumps in California. He was also a Product Engineer for Ingersol-Rand Pumps and ITT. He was shop superintendent with Goulds Pumps for a number of years before affiliating with Robert D. Passionate World Traveler, Gardener and Volunteer Dies at 88

The Matawan resident was very active into her 80s, still enjoying boat rides, walks in Cheesequake Park, reading, and classical music.

Eileen D. Mungenast, 88, of Matawan, died on April 13, 2013, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel with her children at her side. She was born and raised in Butler, NJ, graduated from Butler High School, and attended William Paterson University. She married Kurt F. Mungenast in 1948. Eileen worked as a Contract Administrator for Marotta Scientific Controls in Boonton for nearly 20 years, retiring in 1991. Eileen moved to Matawan shortly after her retirement. She was a member of the National Contracts Administration, a daily communicant at St. Lawrence Church in Laurence Harbor, and previously a communicant at St. Anthony's Church in Butler where she sang in the choir for more than forty years. Barry Moore Ferguson, Sr., 65, of Matawan, N.J., passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in his home. Barry was raised in Summit. He later moved to Matawan with his wife and three children. For 35 years, he worked at AT&T as a safety engineer, before retiring in 2012. Barry discovered a love for classical music at a young age. He later became a season ticket holder for the Metropolitan Opera House. Barry was also an avid hunter and had a passion for both history and cooking. He had a particular fondness for trying unique foods. Former Cliffwood Elementary School Principal Dies at 87

He was a teacher and elementary school principal for over 30 years in the Matawan School District and spend most of his years with Cliffwood Elementary School.

Martin J. Dempsey, 87, of Matawan, passed away Tuesday April 9, 2013 at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, CT. He was born in Scranton, PA and resided in Matawan for the past 56 years. He was a graduate of the University of Scranton and earned his Masters in Education from Rutgers University. He was a teacher and elementary school principal for over 30 years in the Matawan School District and spend most of his years with Cliffwood Elementary School. He a was a devoted family man, a parishioner of St. Clements Church and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a volunteer fireman and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
