Drop off Donations for Oklahoma Tornado Victims at Cinderella Bridals

Operation Jersey Shore Santa plans to drive a truck full of donations down to Oklahoma.

Cinderella Bridals of Matawan will serve as a donation collection center for the people of Oklahoma who were devastated by a two-mile wide Tornado. The collection is being orchestrated by Operation Jersey Shore Santa (OJSS), a charitable organization that was launched by Brick resident Jackie O'Leary to collect toys and clothes for families who lost everything during Hurricane Sandy. They will accept donations through Sunday and plan to pack a moving truck full of donations on Monday, according to the OJSS Facebook. Yes in Toms River donations are being accepted at Verizon Wireless at 1278 Hooper Avenue. There are no times offered on the OJSS Facebook for when they are collecting, but if you drop by during normal business hours I am sure that will be fine. Undercover Boss to Feature Retro Fitness Founder Eric Casaburi

Casaburi is a Colts Neck native and also the owner of Let's YO! Yogurt.

Don't you wish your boss could walk in your shoes for just one day? Eric Casaburi, Colts Neck native and Retro Fitness founder, will do just that with his employees. In an episode of "Undercover Boss" to air Friday night on CBS, Casaburi will experience the jobs of his employees by going undercover in one of his 90 Retro Fitness locations. Casaburi will work in sales with an employee named Megan, take over the front desk from an employee named Jacqueline and tackle tasks with a general manager named Ivette, according to the show's website. Several previews of the upcoming episode, some showing Casaburi's frustration with at least one employee, are available on the CBS website.  The episode is scheduled to air April 26 at 8 p.m.

Papa Ganache of Matawan Wins 'Cupcake Wars'

The vegan bakery got to serve a variety of their cupcakes during a People's Choice Award after party.

Papa Ganache of Matawan out-baked the competition during The Food Network's Cupcake Wars, earning the vegan bakery $10,000 and the opportunity to feed hungry stars at the People Choice Awards after party. Papa Ganache faced off against 21 Cakes of Arizona, Sweet Magnolia Bakery of Minnesota and Sweet Dreamery Desserts of Los Angeles in hopes of winning over the judges with their creative recipes and artistic presentation. There were three rounds of competition with one bakery eliminated at a time. In the final round, Papa Ganache and Sweet Magnolia Bakery were the only two left standing. They were challenged with baking 1,000 cupcakes in two hours and arranging them on a platform they designed for the after party.  With three sparkling …

I went to Papa Ganache today and the cupcakes didn't taste as good as the last time I was there. I went on their facebook page and saw that Amy and Justin were no longer working there. Then I found this article. I'm so disappointed! Unfortunately, Confections of a Rock$tar is not a vegan bakery. Papa Ganache of Matawan Competes in 'Cupcake Wars'

The Food Network reality show competition challenged four participating bakeries to make the best cupcake for the People's Choice Awards.

Life sure is sweet for vegan bakery Papa Ganache on Main Street in Matawan.  The popular baked good and lunch spot was invited to compete on The Food Network's "Cupcake Wars" and challenged to face off against three other bakeries from around the country. Papa Ganache owner Lisa Siroti was first contacted by the show last summer when she was asked to submit an audition tape.  "We sent it in and the producers loved us. They invited us to go to war," she said with a laugh. Although they knew the show was interested, they didn't know when or which challenge they would be asked to participate in. Update: Enzo's Pizza Restaurant of Matawan Reopens After Being Seized by New Jersey Division of Taxation

The state agency says the pizzeria declared bankruptcy.

Enzo's Pizza Restaurant was reopened late on Thursday, April 4 after the property was seized only a day earlier by the New Jersey Division of Taxation.  According to Bill Quinn, of the New Jersey Division of Taxation, the pizzeria has an outstanding balance of $350,672.77 in unpaid taxes, including sales tax, corporate tax and employer withholder tax.  "On Thursday, April 4 they filed a bankruptcy peitition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court," Quinn said. "When they do that, we can't do any further collection efforts against them pending the outcome of their bankruptcy case."
