The school district is looking to fill several positions for the upcoming school year.
The 2012-2013 school year will feature many new faces, and not just among students. According to AppliTrack, the web-based software used by the district for career opportunities, several administration and teaching positions are vacant. These openings follow a somewhat turbulent few months of resignations and rotations. The district is currently looking for a new Lloyd Road School principal, a result of Luigi Laugelli's resignation after just one year of filling the position. Laugelli replaced the upper elementary school's longtime principal Patricia O'Keefe after her retirement last year. When Tara Carroll-Darcy was house shopping with her husband, they kept their passion for holiday decorating in mind. "When we looked at houses, we had decorating criteria. My husband would say, 'That window's not big enough to decorate,' or 'The front lawn isn't big enough,'" Carroll-Darcy said. The family finally decided fives years ago on their Aberdeen Township home at 25 Waverly Place, with two large bay windows on the first floor and a large front lawn - perfect for spreading holiday cheer. Waverly Place home is finalist in Deck the House contest

The revision will reflect the increase in state aid
The Board of Education will revise the school budget in the coming weeks to reflect the increase in state aid announced by Gov. Chris Christie last week. Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District will receive an additional $584,217 for the 2011-12 school year. With the additional appropriation from the state, the increase from the 2010-11 school year has doubled. In total, the district will now receive $11,235,493 in state aid over the 2011-12 school year. The increase in aid came with guidelines for usage. School districts have the option to use the money for tax relief or to revise the budget. A certain percentage of the money can also be carried into the 2012-13 and 2013-14 academic years. MARSD chose to revise the budget, as there was …
