Matawan Man Indicted on Child Porn Possession & Distribution Charges

Investigators also allege that he was in possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a local elementary school.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted Monday to indict a Matawan man on charges that he allegedly possessed and distributed child pornography and drugs.  Investigators say Robert Wood, 28, of the Tree Haven II apartments on Ravine Drive, was in possession of child pornography between Feb. 25, 2009 and Aug. 9, 2011. Child pornography is defined in the indictment as, "any photograph, film, video, computer program or file, video game or any other reconstruction which depicts a child engaging in a prohibited sexual act or simulation of a sex act including on the Internet." The indictment further accuses Wood of distributing child pornography on three occasions in 2009, including May 10, June 4 and June 18.  Wood was allegedly also in possession …

Man Indicted on Attempted Murder Charge for Allegedly Stabbing Cab Driver in Aberdeen

He also allegedly attempted to run the cab driver over after carjacking his taxi.

A Newark man was indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury Monday on a first degree attempted murder charge.  According to investigators, on June 16, 2012, Justin Falcon, 34, got in a cab driven by a 55-year-old man at the Keyport 7-Eleven and drove to nearby Wayside Drive in the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen. When the cab arrived on Wayside Drive, Falcon allegedly began stabbing the man in the area of his face and throat, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. Investigators say that Falcon then allegedly stole the driver's wallet, which contained about $250, and his cab. Leaving the scene, Falcon also allegedly attempted to run the victim over, who was on the ground due to the injuries he sustained, according to the …

Union Beach Man Indicted on Murder Charge After Fatal Keansburg Stabbing

The May 19, 2012 stabbing resulted in the death of Santiago Rodriquez.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted Wednesday to indict a Union Beach man on a first degree murder charge.  Police say Marco Perez-Nery, 21, fatally stabbed Santiago Rodriquez with a six-inch fixed blade knife in Keansburg on May 19, 2012.  Perez-Nery was indicted on three charges, including first degree murder, fourth degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a grand jury found there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.

Police: Matawan Trio Sold Stolen Jewelry in Several Bayshore Towns

A Monmouth County grand jury voted Wednesday to indict the men on three charges.

Three Matawan men were indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury Wednesday on charges they knowingly sold stolen jewelry.  Investigators say Raymond Semmens, 46, and John Salvatore, 42, received stolen jewelry valued in excess of $500 in Union Beach, Keansburg and Hazlet between Nov. 15 and Dec. 10, 2012.  During the same time period in Keansburg and Hazlet, Semmens and Salvatore allegedly sold the jewelry.  Semmens, Salvatore and Mario Castellano, 47, also of Matawan, allegedly again received stolen jewelry valued in excess of $500 and sold it in Hazlet on Dec. 10. Semmens and Salvatore are facing two counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of fencing. Castellano is facing one count of each. All charges are in the third degree. …

Man Allegedly Failed to Register as Sex Offender in Aberdeen, Neptune

A man was indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury on charges he allegedly failed to register with local police.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict Wayne Hegel, 33, on charges he failed to register as a convicted sex offender with local police, according to court documents. The indictment lists his last known address as an apartment complex in Neptune.  Police say that between the dates of Dec. 15, 2012 and Jan. 18 Hegel did not report to police in Aberdeen and Neptune about a change in address. According to the indictment, Hegel was convicted of endangering the welfare of a child in October 2000.  An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a grand jury found there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.

Keyport Man Indicted on Sexual Assault of a Child Charges

Keyport detectives arrested the man in July 2012 following an investigation conducted in conjunction with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

A New Jersey grand jury voted to indict a Keyport man on charges he sexual assaulted a minor, according to court documents. Investigators say Pedro Rivera, 33, of Keyport, sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl in early July 2012 while she was under his care. Rivera was arrested that same month by Keyport detectives Shannon Hyman and Joe Rendina, as the result of an investigation conducted alongside Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Det. Michael Camponella, Chief George Casaletto. Rivera was indicted on a total of four charges, including first degree aggravated sexual assualt, second degree sexual assault and two counts of second degree endangering the welfare of a child.  An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that the jury …

Crash That Injured Holmdel Police Officer Yields Indictment

Jack H. Wegman was allegedly under the influence of marijuana when he crashed into a police car at a DWI checkpoint.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict Jack H. Wegman, 18, of Union Beach on charges he assaulted a Holmdel Police Officer with a vehicle at a DWI checkpoint in October 2012. On Oct. 7, 2011 at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers from the Holmdel Police Department, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and the Brielle Police Department were in the process of preparing a DWI checkpoint on Route 35 just north of Centerville Road. Holmdel Patrolman Michael Michalski observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed toward the checkpoint and not slowing down in response to the warning lights and police vehicles at the scene, according to the press release. Matawan Man Indicted on Drug Charges in Asbury Park

Investigators say he intended to sell a narcotic near a school.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a Matawan man on charges he was in possession of drugs in the area of a school and a public housing facility in Asbury Park. Investigators say Calgiano Ulysse, of Crossroad Avenue, had methylone on him within 1,000 feet of Mount Carmel School and within 500 feet of Washington Village. He allegedly had the intent to sell the drug, investigators say.  According to the FBI, Methylone provides a similar effect as ecstasy and is often sold under the guise of "bath salts." Man Facing Charges of Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer in Keyport

A Monmouth County grand jury handed up the indictment Jan. 17.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a Belmar man on charges he allegedly assaulted a police officer in Keyport. Police say Richard Fiducia, 57, assaulted an on-duty police officer in Keyport on Sept. 21, 2012. According to the indictment, Fiducia allegedly, "[caused] injury recklessly under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life." Fiducia was indicted on two counts of second degree aggravated assault. An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a jury voted there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.

Man Indicted on Aberdeen Burglary Charges

Police say the man unlawfully entered an Aberdeen residence.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict Christopher Baitz, 19, of Gillette on charges he unlawfully entered an Aberdeen home on July 22, 2012. It is a third degree crime.  An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that a jury voted there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
