Alleged Smash and Grab Burglars Also Charged by Aberdeen

Investigators say the men committed several dozen burglaries across the state, including two in Matawan and one in Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen Township Police department charged Kareem Gary, 32, of Elizabeth and Herman Rozier, 46, of Linden, with the smash and grab style burglaries of Singin Gas Station on Lower Main Street. Gary and Rozier were previously committed to the Monmouth County Jail on charges they burglarized Wine Nation and Milk Box, both on Route 34 in Matawan. The pair are believed to be responsible for several dozen burglaries across the state. During the investigation of the July 25 burglary of Wine Nation, Matawan Det. Joseph Lovallo and Det. Steve Sakowski were able to identify one of the suspects and tracked his whereabouts for ten days, according to Lt. Jason Gallo. Woman Indicted on Aberdeen Home Burglary Charge

Investigators say she was found hiding in a closet when the burglary was interrupted by police

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict Alice Anderson, 50, of Farmingdale on a third degree burglary charge stemming from an alleged home burglary in April in Aberdeen Township. Wall Township Lt. Walter Pomphrey told Patch in May that Anderson and Charles Hanisch, 44, of Bradley Beach were apprehended while committing a burglary at a residence on Lloyd Road on April 24. Police, who were conducting surveillance of Hansich, followed the pair to Aberdeen where they found his car parked in the driveway of the home. The front door had been forced open and Hanisch was arrested while he was carrying a television to the front door, Pomphrey said. Aberdeen and Matawan Police Investigating Early Morning Burglaries

Residents were home at the time of the burglaries, police say.

Aberdeen and Matawan Police are investigating the burglaries of two occupied residents in recent months, according to a press release issued jointly by both departments. The incidents occurred at the Tree Haven Village III apartment complex in Aberdeen in May and at the Marc Hampton complex in Matawan in August. Both early morning burglaries involved a physical altercation between the suspect and the residents, according to police. The suspect in both burglaries is believed to be the same person. Detectives from Aberdeen and Matawan are conducting a joint investigation due to the similarities between the two burglaries and their close proximities to one another, according to police. Matawan PD Arrest Two Men on Smash and Grab Burglary Charges

The Matawan Borough Police Department arrested two men believed responsible for several dozen burglaries across New Jersey early Tuesday morning following an extensive investigation that was launched after the July 25 burglary of Wine Nation. As a result of the investigation, Matawan Det. Joseph Lovallo and Det. Steve Sakowski were recently able to identify one of the suspects and tracked his whereabouts for ten days, according to Lt. Jason Gallo. The detectives were aware that the burglary of Wine Nation was similar to several 'smash and grab' style burglaries committed across the state, Gallo said, after attending a statewide intelligence meeting. Aberdeen PD: Several Cars Burglarized or Vandalized

Police say that several cars were burglarized while several others were damaged by rocks thrown from a moving vehicle over the last few days

Several cars were burglarized and several others were damaged by rocks thrown from a moving vehicle in recent days, according to Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers. Multiple people who parked in the area of Lake Boulevard, Fourth Street, and Atlantic Avenue reported that their cars were burglarized sometime during the night on Aug. 6 or early morning hours of Aug. 7, Powers said. All of the cars were left unlocked, according to Powers. Pocketbooks, compact discs, electronic items, and cash were reported stolen. Matawan Police: Cash and Cigarettes Stolen from Liquor Store

Police responded to an alarm at Wine Nation on Wednesday

The Matawan Police Department responded to an alarm at Wine Nation on Wednesday at 2:12 a.m., where they found the glass door of the business shattered, according to Sgt. Thomas Falco. Officers discovered that about $1,000 cash and several cartons of cigarettes were taken from the Route 34 liquor store, Falco said. Ptl. Jeffrey Bodner and Ptl. Jonathan Borsari were the initial responding officers. Sgt. Patrick Walker along with officers from the Aberdeen Township Police Department and the Holmdel Township Police K-9 Unit responded and assisted in searching for the suspect or suspects. Cliffwood Beach Man Arrested on Attempted Burglary Charge

Police say he attempted to enter a home on Sweetbriar Street

A Cliffwood Beach man faces charges after he allegedly tried to break into a home on Sweetbriar Street on July 22. Police say that Daquan Esdaile, 19, who also lives on Sweetbriar Street, attempted to enter the home but was not successful. According to Chief of Police John Powers, when officers were investigating the attempted burglary they discovered a video camera that is part of a home video surveillance system worth $500 had been damaged. Further investigation, including reviewing footage from the surveillance system, led them to identify Esdaile as a suspect, Powers said. When Esdaile was approached by police, he fled on foot through several backyards until he was located hiding in a shed, according to police. Esdaile is charged with …

Aberdeen Police Investigating Gas Station Burglary

A quantity of cash and cigars reported stolen, police say

Aberdeen Township Police responded to an alarm at the Singin Gas Station on Lower Main Street at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Chief of Police John Powers. Officers responding to the scene found the glass door of the gas station broken and a quantity of cash and cigars taken. According to Powers, surveillance video shows the actor to be an approximately 6'3'', 230-250 pound black male wearing a black ski mask, white gloves, black sneakers, white socks, black pants and a hunter green shirt. He fled on foot toward Suydam Place, the video shows. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054. P.O. John Zeller and P.O. Aberdeen Investigating Rash of Cliffwood Car Burglaries

Police urge residents to lock car doors

The Aberdeen Police Department is investigating a rash of car burglaries in the Cliffwood section of the township that were reported on Thursday, June 28. According to Chief of Police John powers, the burglaries occured on Edgeview Road at night or during the early morning. Unspecified amounts of cash, prescription medication, wallets, and purses were reported stolen. All of the vehicles were left unlocked. Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles, remove all valuables, and immedicately report suspicious activity to police, Powers said. The June 28 burglaries were investigated by P.O. Craig Hausmann and P.O. Anthony Marone. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054.

Aberdeen Man and Alleged Accomplice Indicted on Marlboro Burglary Charges

Anthony Dileo of Colts Neck allegedly worked with Kevin McMahon of Aberdeen to break in to a Marlboro home.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted Wednesday to indict Anthony Dileo, 19, of Colts Neck, and Kevin McMahon, 19, of Aberdeen, on charges they broke into a Marlboro home. The alleged crime happened on Feb. 9 of this year. According to the county indictment, investigators allege that Dileo and McMahon unlawfully entered the home with the intent to further commit a crime. They are each charged with one count of third degree burglary. An indictment does not indicate a conviction, only that formal charges may be brought against the individuals named in the indictment.
