The surplus auction has 100 items up for bid, including a fleet of seized or surplus cars
In the market for a new car? How about a lawn mower or construction trailer? These items could be yours if the price is right. Monmouth County is holding an online auction of items from the county’s Fleet Services, Bridge Division, Buildings and Grounds, Park System and Reclamation Center, as well as seized and surplus property from the Prosecutor’s Office. The items are being made available in two USGovBid.com auctions: one featuring 99 items and ending Wednesday, May 8 and one featuring a construction trailer ending Wednesday, May 15. The cars up for auction include a 2005 Cadillac CTS, a 2013 Ford Explorer and a 2003 Mercedes Benz CL55 AMG. Income properties, development sites, retail, a salvage yard and professional buildings in New Jersey and Pennsylvania will be sold at a bank ordered auction in November, with most being sold regardless of price, according to a press release from Max Spann Real Estate and Auction Company. The auction is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Double Tree on Frontage Street in Newark. “The auction offers a variety of appealing properties around New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania,” said Max Spann, the president and CEO of the firm, in a press release. “Right now, most of these properties are bank owned. We need to get them into the hands of investors who will be able to realize the full potential of these properties,” he said. …

Destination Baby in Woodbridge was the kind of store to make mommies-to-be drool and grandmas-in-waiting rip out the gold card. A luxury store in the Crosspointe Town Square shopping center, catering to creating the luxe childhood of which dreams are made. Then the Recession of '08 happened, and many luxury stores hit the skids. Last November, Destination Baby was shuttered amid bankruptcy proceedings. Very true, Joseph. Do as much due diligence as possible prior to the purchase. Your "bargain" may end up costing more than the purchase price especially if oil contamination is involved.   more ›
