Matawan Borough will begin accepting applications for 2013 Summer Parking Permits at the Aberdeen-Matawan Train Station on March 18, according to a resolution approved by the Borough Council on Feb. 5. Mayor Paul Buccellato explained that several years ago, the borough noticed that during the summer there were a number of open spaces in the Matawan parking lot. "Since people generally go on vacation during the summer months, there are spots or spaces that are available," he said. "It's been successful in the past and we're continuing the program." Updated 4:45 p.m.: Investigators do not suspect foul play in the death of a man discovered at an abandoned factory near the Aberdeen-Matawan Train Station, according to Charles Webster, public information officer for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. The body was discovered in the factory the morning of Saturday, Jan. 19, Webster said. An autopsy performed that afternoon concluded that there was no foul play involved in his death. The identity of the man and the cause of death were not available, Webster said. Webster would not confirm whether or not the man was homeless or why he was in the factory.
