Residents enjoyed activities throughout town including a fishing contest, a softball tournament and a talent competition.
Aberdeen Day 2012 was a day full of events throughout the entire township. Attendees had the opportunity to try and catch the largest fish of the day at Cliffwood Beach Park, ride kiddie rides and browse classic cars at the Matawan Regional High School, rock out during Aberdeen's Got Talent at Strathmore Shopping Center, and cheer on the Department of Works, Aberdeen Police Department, or the Aberdeen Fire Department during the Mayor's Trophy Softball Game at Fireman's Field. Livoti's and DeMarco's each hosted an afternoon party in their respective parking lots. Click through our photo gallery from the entire day. Want to add your own photos or videos? Aberdeen 2012 is almost here! Which events will you participate in?
Aberdeen Day is tomorrow, but this won't be your typical township celebration. Rather than just hosting a fair at Matawan Regional High School, all parts of Aberdeen will be included in the festivities with a fishing contest, a talent competition, and a softball game between the police and fire departments. Don't miss out on any of the fun! Here is a schedule to help you plan your day: Plus, if you find your local Patch Editor (which will be very easy if you "Like" Patch on Facebook) at any of these events make sure to say hi! And if you need extra incentive to introduce yourself, I will be carrying around give-aways, such as tote bags, pens, and t-shirts.
