we love it here! my two sons really enjoy karate.

I like the trational karate center school. the staff and the eviorment. it teaches you r child to defend themselves around bullies and everyday life.shihan buttermark is the fininest teachers.everyone there is like family it also teaches good values to be tought.

Traditional Karate Center and Shihan Buttermark with the Sensei's and Sempai are wonderful with the children, the children love and respect all the teachers. They care about each child and young adult that comes to the center. The family feeling is one of the reasons why we followed Shihan from Staten Island to his Matawan dojo.

The Traditional Karate Center is a excellent dojo for learning karate. The dojo led by Shihan Buttermark, teaches all about karate and the meaning to use it as defense and not offense. Shihan Buttermark promotes a family atmosphere to all students and to student family members. He can start teaching students from 3 years and up. Shihan has a great way with the kids and creates a true family environment in the Dojo. His teaching really addresses the full person, the Sensei's and Sempai who also teach follow in his foot steps and are a true compliment to the Dojo.

Shihan Buttermark is a great teacher and goes above and beyond just teaching karate to his students but developed and fosters a "community" within his dojo that offer's (non-instructional) recreational events.
