The pizza was better when they first opened, it has slipped some. They do not take enough care to clean the pizza stones in their ovens, the pizza always comes with burnt bits on the bottom of it. They have a special brush and scraper to clean the pizza stone but they are lazy. Everywhere else uses that when the burnt cornstarch builds up on the cooking surface, but not this place, they think it is okay to let it go on your plate that way. It is unacceptable and their practices need improvement. I guess Staten Island Pizza can be equated to "with burnt bits" stuck on the bottom of your pizza.
All I have been hearing since this place opened is that this place is amazing. I have to disagree. The pizza is good, just like any other place. The food on the other hand is something less desirable. I was very disappointed with the quaility of the food, the service and the price. I could have gotten the same meal at the diner next door for less money, more flavor and better service. The waiter didnt seem to know what he was doing, and he got out orders wrong. I hope to try this place again, and hopefully it will change my mind.
Our family loves the pizza and food, the garlic knots are our favorite. We have also ordered from their cater menu for dinner parties and the portions are big and and food remains fresh and hot all the time.
Best Pizza!!!! Great food, great service, great prices. I pass at least a dozen other pizzeria's to eat at Denino's. There are also well more then 10 tables so we rarely wait.
