President and founder of Mike's Train House will visit Route 34 store

A notable name in model trains is coming to Aberdeen this Saturday to talk about the industry and sign autographs.

Mike Wolf, president and founder of Maryland-based Mike’s Train House (MTH) will visit the Hobby Shop, 1077C Route 34, for a special visit from 2 to 6 p.m. as the store celebrates its 35th anniversary.

“It is truly a significant thing in the world of model railroading that, Mike Wolf a real innovator and well respected leader in this field is coming to the store … something he doesn't do often at all,” Cathy Zavorskas of the Hobby Shop said in an email.

Wolf will speak about the newest innovations in electric trains, according to organizers, and will autograph any MTH items purchased that day.

All seven of the shop’s trains will be running its new model display celebrating the Jersey Shore. Included in the display, which highlights scenes from each season, are an aquarium, drive-in movie theater, camp ground, boardwalk, and more, according to organizers.
