Matawan's Turkey Trot Kicks Off Saturday

Billed as a way to "run off your stuffing," Matawan's 5K Turkey Trot and Fitness Walk kicks off Saturday morning. 

Registration on race day opens at 8 a.m. for the 10 a.m. contests at Terhune Park on Main and Broad Streets, according to organizers. The entry fee is $25, and children can participate in the free kiddy dash at 10:45 a.m.

Last year's event was canceled because of ongoing recovery efforts in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. 

Donations for the Matawan Food Pantry will be accepted at the event, according to organizers.
