Historical Society Meeting, Halloween Events Scheduled This Week

Mark those calendars—below are programs, meetings and events you don't want to miss in Matawan and Aberdeen this week:

Monday, Oct. 28

Matawan’s Historical Society will hold a 7:30 p.m. meeting at its 94 Main St. location, the Burrowes Mansion. Local historian AL Savolaine will speak about the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic that came to Matawan.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

Students in the classes of 2018 and 2019 are invited to learn about the opportunities available to them at Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

Children ages 6 months to 5 years are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes and have a parade through the Matawan-Aberdeen library, followed by stories and crafts. Sessions are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Call 732-583-9100 for registration information.

Thursday, Oct. 31

Children ages 12 and under are invited to Aberdeen Borough Hall for safe trick-or-treating between 2 and 4 p.m.
