Mission Matawan: Calling All Volunteers

The First Presbyterian Church of Matawan is fixing up the town

The First Presbyterian Church is holding a week long service effort to improve the community by helping those in need for the ninth year in a row.

Volunteers for Mission Matawan will be painting fences, fixing decks, repairing a leaky ceiling and many other small projects.

"Mission Matawan is a neighbor helping neighbor program. It's an outreach program of the church," said Diana Noble, the Mission Matawan Project chairperson and a member of the First Presbyterian Church congregation.

According to Noble, volunteers also come from St. Joseph's and many of the youth groups from local churches.

The number of volunteers each day varies based on the projects that need to be completed and the availability of the volunteers. Noble estimates that there are between ten and twenty volunteers each day.

Tomorrow children of middle school age will volunteer at the Matawan Food Pantry.

To volunteer, contact Diana Noble at 732-566-2663.
