Make the Holidays Special for Veterans

The members of Cliffwood Guadalcanal VFW Post 4745 will be hosting a holiday celebration in honor of about 45 veterans who are patients at local VA Hospitals

The celebration includes dinner and entertainment at the VFW Post on Cliffwood Avenue on Friday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m., according to Post Service Officer Ken Aitken. 

"We are requesting the help of the public to make this a truly memorable occasion for our veterans," said Aitken.  

VFW members and volunteers will be providing all of the food service and entertainment to their honored guests. They are asking the community for donations such as music CDs, DVDs and new clothing, so they can add to what they have purchased and provide a holiday gift bag to those who gave so much for freedom.

"Our goal is to give every one of these veterans a memorable holiday and a well-deserved thank you," Aitken said.

Donations can be dropped off anytime after 12 p.m. until Dec 15 at:
