Help a Local Family in Need This Holiday Season

Matawan PBA #179 is helping make the holiday season brighter for disadvantaged families

A message from Matawan Borough PBA #179:

The Matawan PBA #179 is once again helping make the holiday season brighter for disadvantaged families. This year, the economy has again had an effect on several area families, and the Matawan PBA is expecting more requests this year for assistance.

This is the 11th year that the Matawan PBA will be holding its Annual Holiday Toy/Food Drive program. From now through December 19th, 2011 area residents are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for children ages 2 - 12 to any of the following locations:

  • Matawan Borough Police Headquarters, 150 Main Street, Matawan
  • ShopRite, 318 Lloyd Road, Aberdeen, NJ
  • Quick Check, 58 Main Street, Matawan, NJ
  • Freehold Buick GMC, Route 9, Freehold, NJ
  • Matawan Municipal Community Center, 201 Broad Street, Matawan, NJ
  • Panther Press, 37 Lower Main Street, Matawan, NJ

"Over the past 10 years, the Matawan PBA Local #179 has collected thousands of toys and clothes for local children, as well as food for families less fortunate" said Matawan Borough Police Officer Jeff Bodner, who is once again organizing this year's effort with the help and assistance of the other officers in the Department, as well as several local resident volunteers.

"We know that the current economy has impacted many more people than ever before. The Matawan PBA, with your help and donations hope to assist and lend a hand to those in need in our community, so that they can have a better holiday," said Officer Bodner.

If you would like to make a monetary or food donation, would like to volunteer or would like more information please call Officer Jeff Bodner at 732-290-2020, Ext. 314 or jbodner@matawanpolice.org
