Matawan Aberdeen Babe Ruth League Extends Late Registration Due to Weather

Don't forget to sign up your child for the league. The season is only seven weeks away.

The Matawan Aberdeen Babe Ruth League announced that it will be extending late registration until Saturday, Feb. 16 due to the recent weather conditions.

“We’ve had people who haven’t signed up yet and I think a big part of it is the weather. When it's 18 degrees outside or there’s a foot of snow, people aren’t thinking ‘Hey, it’s almost baseball season’,” said Councilman Tom Fitzsimmons, who is also a member of the MABRL Board of Trustees.

“But we’re only seven weeks away from opening day so we need to get uniforms ordered and pick teams pretty soon,” he continued.
