The Endless Summer Walk: bay2ocean30

The FreeWalkers, a social network of long-distance walkers, aims to extend the summer of 2011 for another ten days. Their plan is to walk 30 miles near the coast from Matawan to Asbury Park on Saturday, October 1, 2001, along trails, sidewalks and boardwalk. The event is FREE and open to the public.

Staring at the Aberdeen-Matawan train station, the walk follows the North Section of the Henry Hudson Trail for the first 12 miles, going west to east. Walkers will then follow the oceanfront all the way to Asbury Park, where they can board NJ Transit trains back to the starting point.

FreeWalker (http://freewalkers.org) walks are usually of a challenging distance, but they always include opportunities to walk shorter segments to meet personal goals.

This walk will be dedicated to supporting the Friends of the Parks (http://friendsofmonmouthcountyparks.com) non-profit organization which in turn supports the 35 Monmouth County parks.
