Health Advocacy Workshop

Parents of Special People, Inc. will host the SPAN Statewide Parent Advocacy Network presenting Health Advocacy on April 24, 7-9 p.m. at Cambridge Park School, 1 Crest Way in Aberdeen.

This workshop will focus on accessing health coverage and services for children with special health care needs. Topics covered will include an introduction to the various health insurance models, who is eligible and how to apply; mental health services and the child behavioral health system; advocacy in the managed care environment; health support services; consumer laws–COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA; and adult systems of care.
