Matawan-Aberdeen Patch 2013 Election Guide

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Matawan and Aberdeen residents will have the opportunity to vote for municipal and school board candidates when polls open on Tuesday. 

Four candidates are running for the two open seats on the Matawan Borough Council—incumbent Republicans Donna Gould and Linda Clifton are being challenged by Democrats Joe Altomonte and Bonnie Krause.

In Aberdeen, voters will cast their votes for Mayor and Councilmembers-At-Large. 

Incumbent Mayor Fred Tagliarini, a Democrat, is being challenged by Republican Augustine T. Toomey. 

Running on the Democratic ticket for council are Margaret M. Montone and Joseph J. Martucci. The Republican candidates are Michael T. Vail and Edward A. Failla. 

Three Matawan-Aberdeen Regional Board of Education seats are up for grabs. Those seats are divided between the municipalities—in this election, one Matawan seat and two Aberdeen seats are available. 

Anissa Esposito is running unopposed for the Matawan seat.  

Three Aberdeen residents are running for the Aberdeen seats. They are John P. Delaney, Joelle Nappi and Patricia A. Phillips.
