Matawan Council Holding Special Meeting to Award Road Contract

The agenda for the Monday includes the contract and a part-time seasonal personnel approval.

The Matawan Borough Council will hold a special meeting on Monday to award the first part of the road contract.

"The BID for contract #1 is in, and the Mayor wanted to get the contract awarded so the contractor can mobilize and get the project started while the weather is still good," said Louis Ferrara, Matawan Township administator via email.

Ferrara said the contract was split because some of the roads needed New Jersey Department of Transportation approval, which would take longer to get. The BID for sections that did not need NJDOT approval will be awarded in the near future when we get the approvals.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Matawan Municipal Community Center.
