However, the council must still approve a parking plan for the third phase of Pier Village before the project can move forward. If the planning board approves the site plan, a condition of approval will be the passage of the parking plan by the council.

Applied Development architect Tom Bauer discussed plans for the third phase for residents on Tuesday night and showed a slideshow that contained before and after photos of what Pier Village would like with the additions.

The third phase, which will be located just south of the existing structures, will feature residential and retail space and a new hotel near the boardwalk.

Bauer has said the project will be broken into two phases and that construction could begin in January, 2013. The second phase of the project would begin 15-18 months later, around Labor Day in 2014.
