Jersey Central Power & Light is continuing its vegetation management program in Aberdeen and Matawan, as well as 43 other towns in New Jersey.

"Proper vegetation management is as essential component of the work we do to help protect our infrastructure,” said Anthony Hurley, JCP&L vice president of Operations. “Our certified tree experts work year-round to help prevent tree-related interruptions of service."

Work is conducted by forestry contractors, according to the First Energy website. Removing trees and brush around power lines should prevent downed lines and power outages during storms.
